Registration and details

What is ArchiNova?

ArchiNova is an entrepreneurial student competition that seeks creative ideas from UMD architecture students for new initiatives, organizations and businesses that positively impact society. While it is not a design competition, as designers and future architects, students are encouraged to consider what skills can be utilized to put forth ideas that explore topics adjacent and integral to architecture.

Who is Suzanna Kelley?

ArchiNova 2.0 is led by Suzanna Kelley, Chief Experience Officer at McKinley Advisors in DC. As an architect, and the former managing director for strategic alliances & initiatives at the AIA, Suzanna has partnered with UMD Architecture faculty to put on this competition. Suzanna will lead a workshop on February 18th to help students get into the mindset for submitting a competition entry, focusing on how to utilize unique skills to craft business plan proposals.

Timeline:

Any student, undergraduate or graduate, that is interested in learning more should attend the kick-off seminar. Then, students are invited to submit a one page idea sheet, individually or in groups of up to three students. After review, students will receive mentorship and guidance on preparing their submissions for the Idea Showcase.
