The University of Maryland campus-wide Spring 2023 Commencement will take place in-person on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 7:00 pm at SECU Stadium. 

Additional information regarding the campus-wide ceremony, tickets, regalia and safety measures will be added to commencement.umd.edu.

Winter 2022 and Spring 2023 Graduates are invited to attend the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation Spring 2023 Commencement ceremony. The ceremony will take place in-person on Wednesday, May 24 at 10:00 am at the Dekelboum Concert Hall, Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.


There will be a reception for commencement participants and their 4 guests from noon-1:30 pm in the Great Space, Architecture Building. Light snacks will be served. 
 

The MAPP Commencement will be ticketed for all guests.

Students will be issued 4 tickets each for up to 4 guests. If you do not need all 4 tickets, please feel free to share the tickets you do not need with other students as there were many who wanted to invite more than 4 guests. UMD will be holding a lottery for additional tickets as well, more details to follow.

If you or your guests will need specific accommodations at the ceremony, please note that in the Commencement Information Form, and reply to this email with details as soon as possible.

Graduating students, please do not bring any purses or bags with you during procession.

The ceremony will also be livestreamed.

You have until July 31, 2023 to view the livestreams! 

Graduation Checklist:

  • Apply for graduation on Testudo
  • Meet all university requirements
  • Settle your student account
  • Complete the Commencement Information Form as soon as possible.
  • Update your physical mailing address (post-graduation) and email address (current and post-graduation) on Testudo
  • Check commencement.umd.edu for schedules and other helpful information for your guests
  • Purchase your regalia from the University Bookstore in Stamp or online.
  • Conduct an exit interview with the Office of Financial Aid
  • Make arrangements for guests attending your graduation ceremonies
