David Rouse, FAICP

 

Climate change, demographic shifts, the digital economy, artificial intelligence…the list goes on. Communities across the nation are experiencing the disruptive, accelerating impacts of change. This lecture by David Rouse, instructor of URSP 6881: The Comprehensive Plan, will explore how communities faced with a new era of uncertainty can prepare for the social, technological, economic, and environmental drivers of change that are impacting them now or may impact them in the future.

About the Speaker

David Rouse, FAICP is a consultant, educator, and author with over 40 years of experience in urban and regional planning and design. From 2013 to 2019, he served as Managing Director of Research and Advisory Services for the American Planning Association. Previously, Mr. Rouse was a principal at the planning and design firm WRT in Philadelphia, where many of his projects received professional awards for excellence. With Rocky Piro, he co-authored The Comprehensive Plan: Sustainable, Resilient, and Equitable Communities for the 21st Century, published by Routledge in 2022.
