Today is Giving Day, the 24-hour UMD giving challenge to support student scholarships, academic programs, awards, and experiential education. As alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (MAPP), we come together in community to support students and programming aimed at creating a quality built environment.
Here are some ways to maximize your giving:
- All gifts to MAPP, up to a total of $5,000, will be matched dollar-for-dollar.
- Gifts to the Brian P. Kelly AIA Travel Abroad Fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $7,500.
- The first $2,500 in gifts to the Design Collective Endowed Fund will be matched.
HELP US MEET THESE CHALLENGES!
- Students! Recent Graduates! Dean Jourdan challenges 25 current students and recent graduates (2018-2022) to make a gift of $10 or more to unlock an extra $2,500 for MAPP scholarships benefitting all of our programs.
- If at least 150 donors make a gift to MAPP before 11:59 pm on Giving Day, the school’s Board of Visitors will contribute $10,000 to the Dean's Scholarship Fund, supporting students in all of our programs.
- If the number of donors to the Real Estate Development Scholarship doubles (last year 18 donors supported the scholarship), an additional $50,000 will be unlocked thanks to the Neighborhood Development Collaborative.
The university has many matches and challenges as well, including the Clarvit Family Match:
- Clarvit Family Student Match: Gifts made by students will be matched dollar for dollar up to $15,000. Three phases: midnight, 9AM and 8PM.
- Recent Graduate Match: Recent graduate gifts from the classes of 2018 to 2022 will be matched dollar for dollar up to $15,000. Two phases: midnight and 12PM.

FACULTY and STAFF! Making a gift between the hours of 11:00 am and 1:00 pm and we can earn an extra $2,000 for the school.
