Richard Etlin is an architectural historian who joined the faculty in August 1981. In 2000 he was awarded the rank of Distinguished University Professor. In 1998 Etlin became the founding director of the Restoring Ancient Stabiae project (RAS), a post that he held until he left RAS in May 2003. He retired in summer 2012.
