As Maryland’s coastal communities face increasing climate threats, including rising sea levels and severe storms, this initiative aims to strengthen the resilience of eight vulnerable coastal jurisdictions. The project focuses on addressing climate-related hazards through nature-based solutions (NBS) and enhancing fish and wildlife habitats.
The project includes a three-month coastal resilience seminar series where participating jurisdictions will engage in interactive sessions on climate resilience, led by EFC and a Project Advisory Group. Following the seminars, direct assistance will be provided, offering tailored support such as vulnerability mapping, project planning, and connections to funding and technical resources. Each community will then collaborate with EFC to develop a Resilience Work Plan, outlining prioritized nature-based projects and strategies for climate adaptation and implementation, ensuring a comprehensive approach to strengthening local climate resilience efforts.
