The burning of fossil fuels is a primary cause of air pollution in the United States. Despite the growing availability of cleaner technology that improves local air, water, and soil quality, fuel-burning vehicles such as trucks and cars remain a significant polluter. EFC works to improve air quality by assisting in the administration of grant programs to reduce diesel fuel emissions, particularly in and around major ports in the Mid-Atlantic region. Our services include stakeholder facilitation, program education and outreach, financing assistance, and grant application management. See below for examples of our work in this area.
