The EFC worked with several other centers in the EFC Network (EFCN) to deliver capacity building technical assistance to local and regional governments that had received grants through the federal HUD-EPA-DOT Sustainable Community Partnership. The EFCN team’s assistance focused on integrating water infrastructure planning and investment considerations into local and regional sustainability planning. With our partners, UMD EFC delivered in-person and virtual assistance to communities and developed customized guidance for individual grantees as needed. For example, EFC worked with the Memphis and Shelby County Sustainability Office to develop strategies for financing and implementing the green infrastructure or low-impact development elements of the region’s Greenprint Vision, so that the region could enhance water quality while simultaneously extend its network of trails for recreation, active transportation, public health, and other community benefits. See below for links to this report and other resources developed through this project.
